As an LCSW, she has worked in various settings, including the Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center, an inpatient adolescent psychiatric unit, private practice, and as an adjunct instructor at LSU. Her interests and approaches encompass trauma-informed care,

Katherine Kirsch earned her MSW in 2019 and is currently a PhD candidate at LSU. As an LCSW, she has worked in various settings, including the Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center, an inpatient adolescent psychiatric unit, private practice, and as an adjunct instructor at LSU. Her interests and approaches encompass trauma-informed care, attachment, play therapy, and parent-child interactions, making her a strong advocate for child therapy. She is trained in and utilizes a variety of modalities, including TraumaPlay™ and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Katherine's expertise extends to addressing issues such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, emotional disturbance, family conflict, grief, impulse control, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), oppositional defiance (ODD), parenting challenges, peer relationships, relationship issues, school issues, self-esteem, self-harming behaviors, sexual abuse, suicidal ideation, teen violence, and trauma and PTSD. Her work is also LGBTQ+ affirming, providing inclusive counseling and family therapy to support neurodivergent individuals and their families effectively.
